The Ageing Asia Global Masterclass visiting HUR facilities

The Ageing Asia Global Masterclass: Scandinavia & Europe, founded and operated by Ageing Asia Pte Ltd in Singapore – an ageing market consultancy social enterprise, is an industry training programme that aims to provide professionals with a practical on-the-ground understanding of operational delivery of healthcare, geriatric care, rehabilitation and wellbeing services for the elderly in Finland, Sweden and The Netherlands.
The study tour from 18th – 22nd of August featured a full day workshop led by facilitators from De Hogeweyk in The Netherlands - World's first village that enables normal living for people with severe dementia, and visits to over 18 different senior care rehabilitation, nursing, healthcare and dementia-care facilities. The tour also included a visit to HUR customers and HUR headquarters.
This is the first time Ageing Asia is organising a study tour cum training program to Scandinavia and Europe. The unique programmes were designed to give an in-depth understanding of the healthcare, geriatric care, rehabilitation and wellbeing services in Scandinavia and The Netherlands who showed great leaderships in these areas. The delegation consisted of healthcare, housing, government and aged-care senior-level representatives from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

- It was an enriching and valuable experience for the delegates to be able to tour the facilities and understand in-depth the products and services offered by leading healthcare and aged-care facilities in Scandinavia and Europe. The training programmes at the end of each tour complemented the study tour, and was a good take away for many of the delegates who thoroughly enjoyed every aspects of the programme. The delegates were also able to take the chance to understand the culture and practices of the different country, which makes the whole experience culturally enriching. Ageing Asia will look into organising a similar programme next year.
